Property Redevelopment Owner’s Representation

LURA recruited Leadline’s services to manage the process to incentivize redevelopment of two key parcels in Old Town Lafayette. As LURA considers the role that it plays in the community, it decided that the two properties owned by the authority would be most suitably redeveloped by professional developers, guided by community goals. Our role is seen as staff augmentation to expand a small professional team at the authority.

Leadline was hired to solicit, select, and manage environmental testing, demolition, and brokerage services; to create and manage the solicitation of development proposals; to engage the community about the properties; and to manage the evaluation and selection of a buyer for each property. 

Our approach has been to find the balance between the strongest community outcomes and the market demand for each location and to work with LURA’s commissioners to successfully transition the properties. We also highly prioritize sharing information with the community about the project as the sites physically change over time, so we have implemented a comprehensive communications strategy that includes webpage updates, social media engagement, and on-site messaging.
